youth for culture

from jerusalem to montreux

This group consisted of nine girls aged 16 to 18 years old chosen from among the best dialogue group members of the last two to three years.

They were accommodated in five host families, two of which were new. This year's group worked on organizing an intercultural event to raise awareness of the YMCA and its role in Jerusalem's inter-community life. The trip to Switzerland allowed the participants to step back and work on the dialogue required for the organization and the choices related to this event. As part of their project, the group met Renaud de Wattewille (event creator), received training in public speaking and visited the backstage of the Montreux Festival. They alternated dialogue sessions and recreational activities in Arolla in Valais and then in Lausanne. The farewell party on Sunday, July 15 allowed everyone to get to know this very harmonious and brilliant group better.
