Eleven students from the University of Haifa, under the direction of the Swiss guide and famous Himalayan scholar Jean Troillet, undertook a tour of Mont Rose from Saas Fee to Zermatt, via Italy, between August 17 and 25. Exchanges and shared physical efforts illustrate their willingness to continue a dialogue begun months ago in Israel. This expedition, renewed every year since the first Israeli-Palestinian ascent of Mont Blanc in 2010, is part of the "Breaking the ice" project. The members of the roped party were chosen and trained by Ulfat Haider, a Palestinian sportswoman who has been involved in this project since its inception.
